Colors, Festivities, and Traditions – Teej Celebrations Light Up Dr. Punj Hospital (A Unit of EMC Hospitals) in Amritsar
The renowned Dr. Punj Hospital, a proud unit of EMC Hospitals in Amritsar, celebrated the Teej Festival this year with great enthusiasm, vibrancy, and traditional charm. The entire hospital premises were adorned with greenery, colorful decorations, and a festive aura. From the entrance gate to the main hall, Teej-themed décor, lush green swings, traditional rangolis, and the fragrance of fresh flowers created a captivating atmosphere.

The celebrations began with the soothing sounds of traditional musical instruments and Punjabi folk songs. The hospital’s female staff and visitors were dressed in traditional attire — sarees and salwar-kurtas in shades of green, red, and pink — adding to the festive spirit. Special mehendi (henna) stalls, folk dance performances, Teej songs, and traditional Punjabi games showcasing the region’s rich culture were among the highlights of the event. Guests also enjoyed authentic delicacies such as ghevar, malpua, and thandai, which added a delightful flavor to the celebrations.
This year’s Teej festival went beyond entertainment, emphasizing community bonding, cultural preservation, and fostering a family-like atmosphere. Everyone present felt that the true essence of festivals lies in connecting hearts and bringing positivity into life.
The main attractions included beautifully decorated floral swings, a women’s traditional singing competition, and a vibrant photo corner where guests captured memorable moments.
On this occasion, Dr. Monika Punj, Director of Dr. Punj Multispeciality Hospital, said:
“Teej is not just a festival — it is a symbol of our cultural heritage, love for nature, and mutual connection. It reminds us of the importance of celebrations and togetherness in life. We are proud that the Dr. Punj Multispeciality Hospital family celebrates every festival wholeheartedly, with joy and unity.”
The event not only kept the Teej tradition alive but also strengthened the bonds between the hospital family and the local community. The entire day was filled with laughter, songs, and colors — creating memories that will remain cherished in everyone’s hearts for a long time.
