EMC Group Organizes Meeting to Enhance Patient Counseling and Doctor-Patient Relationships

Amritsar, 23 December – EMC Group of Hospitals, led by Pawan Arora, recently held a significant meeting with all its consultants. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the importance of patient counseling and fostering better relationships between doctors and patients, as well as their families.
During the meeting, it was highlighted that many patients feel hesitant to ask questions to their doctors and how this issue can be resolved. The discussion emphasized that effective counseling plays a critical role in patient care, as clear communication and emotional support are essential for both patients and their families. Counseling helps alleviate the anxiety and fear patients often experience during serious treatments or surgeries.
The meeting also addressed the need to build trust between doctors and patients’ families. It was noted that many patients hesitate to question doctors, leading to confusion and increased anxiety. Doctors were encouraged to dedicate time to explain diagnoses, treatment plans, and address relatives’ queries to enhance transparency and provide support to families during challenging times.
Pawan Arora, Chairman of EMC Group, stated during the meeting that the hospital’s commitment extends beyond medical treatment. “It is equally important to create an environment where patients and their families feel understood, supported, and cared for,” he said. He reminded the doctors and medical staff that treatment is not just about medication but also about building trust and offering emotional support.
He stressed the importance of improving counseling and communication, highlighting that this would enhance the patient and family experience, making them feel more confident throughout the treatment process.
Following the meeting, all consultants collectively committed to improving their approach to patient counseling and communication. It was decided that regular training programs focusing on interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and empathetic communication would be organized for doctors.
These changes aim to bring significant benefits to patients and their families, including reduced anxiety and fear, improved communication between doctors and relatives, and greater satisfaction and trust in medical care.
