City Hospital Appeals for Cancer Awareness on World Cancer Day
Every year on February 4th, “World Cancer Day” is observed to raise awareness about cancer and encourage people towards its prevention and treatment. This day is celebrated worldwide to support those battling cancer and to spread sensitivity towards the disease.

On this occasion, Dr. Riya, an expert in the Gynecology Department at City Hospital, Gurdaspur, said, “Awareness about cancers in women, particularly breast and cervical cancer, is crucial. Early detection and timely treatment can help us fight cancer effectively. It is our collective responsibility to recognize the symptoms of cancer and ensure that there is no delay in getting health screenings.” She also emphasized that with the right guidance and treatment, patients can fight cancer, and that is our main goal.
Dr. Rishabh Arora, Director of City Hospital, stated, “World Cancer Day is not just a single day, but it motivates us to continually fight against cancer. On this day, we should all take a pledge to make every possible effort in the prevention and treatment of cancer. Our aim is to spread awareness about the disease and encourage everyone to seek timely treatment.”
All departments of City Hospital are working diligently towards this goal to save people from deadly diseases like cancer and provide them with the opportunity to live a healthy life.
