The event featured insightful discussions by Director Samiksha Arora and expert obstetrician and gynecologist Dr. Monika Punj. They emphasized that while cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers among women, it can be effectively controlled through timely screening and prevention measures.
Dr. Monika Punj highlighted that the primary cause of cervical cancer is the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection. She stressed that regular Pap smear tests and the HPV vaccine are critical for early detection and prevention of this disease. Additionally, maintaining hygiene, a balanced diet, and routine health check-ups play a vital role in its prevention.
