Press Note: EMC Hospital Batala Raises Awareness on Health Issues and Their Solutions During Winter
Batala, EMC Hospital – With the onset of winter, Dr. Rishabh Arora, Director of EMC Hospital Batala, shared insights on common health issues during the cold season and effective preventive measures.

Dr. Rishabh Arora emphasized that winter increases the risk of respiratory illnesses, joint pain, heart-related problems, and skin issues. Cold and dry air exacerbates respiratory problems such as asthma, bronchitis, and pneumonia, especially among the elderly and individuals with pre-existing respiratory conditions. Dr. Arora advises such individuals to wear masks when venturing outdoors, stay hydrated, and use humidifiers to maintain indoor moisture.
Joint pain, particularly for arthritis patients, worsens in winter due to reduced blood flow to the joints in low temperatures. Dr. Arora suggests engaging in light exercises, keeping the body warm, and using warm compresses to alleviate pain.
Dr. Arora also pointed out that fluctuations in blood pressure during winter increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes. “Individuals with heart conditions should regularly monitor their blood pressure, avoid exposure to cold winds, and consume a balanced diet,” he recommends.
Additionally, cold weather makes the skin dry, causes chapped lips, and increases problems like eczema. Dr. Arora advises using moisturizers and avoiding long, hot baths to retain skin moisture.
EMC Hospital Batala provides special facilities for ECHS, CGHS, Railway, and ESI beneficiaries, ensuring timely health services for those in need this winter. Dr. Arora and his team are dedicated to caring for the community’s health during the cold season.
