On the occasion of World Osteoporosis Day, EMC Hospital, Batala, organized a program to raise awareness about the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.
Batala, October 20, 2024 –

The program was led by Dr. Shalinderjeet and Dr. Imran, who shared crucial insights on the importance of early detection and management of this silent disease.
Osteoporosis is often referred to as a “silent disease” because it develops without symptoms and is usually only diagnosed when a fracture occurs. This condition primarily affects postmenopausal women and the elderly, though men and younger individuals may also be at risk. Dr. Rishabh Arora, Director of EMC Hospital, emphasized the growing prevalence of osteoporosis in India and the urgent need for increased awareness.
The doctors highlighted the importance of bone density tests (DEXA scans) for high-risk populations and stressed the value of a diet rich in calcium and vitamin D, along with weight-bearing exercises. EMC Hospital offers comprehensive treatment options for osteoporosis, ranging from medication to rehabilitation.
EMC Hospital is dedicated to providing affordable healthcare services for osteoporosis patients under ECHS, CGHS, Railway, and ESI schemes.
